The small English town of Wildemont was known for its peaceful surroundings and friendly citizens. However, all that changed in the spring of 1220, when there were reports of a "beast" attacking the townspeople. This usually quiet town turned into something chaotic as an unknown beast claimed several lives.

The townspeople were divided. Some of them believed this to be no more than a wild animal on the loose that needed to be hunted down. The others blamed the full moon and assumed the culprit was a violent werewolf. No matter what side a person took, they agreed on one thing: this beast needed to see its end for the safety of the town.

Men and women alike joined together in a group called the Hunters. They vowed to watch over the town and, when finding the beast responsible for the casualties, they would make sure it met its end. However, the task was not an easy one. Tragically, several more lives were lost in the following month at the hands of the beast.

Not only were lives at stake with this beast on the loose, but the secrets in the dark were also at risk of being publicized. There was a pack of werewolves who moved to Wildemont and presented themselves to neighbors as mere humans. Wanting to live their lives with their claws hidden, this pack moved to Wildemont hoping to partake of the town's peace. Hearing of the attacks, several years later, they were heartbroken to hear one of their kind was responsible. Not only did the hunters want to take down this beast, but so did the werewolves and for the sake of their kind.
